My name is Heather and I’m a Fluffaholic!

When I told the woman at the post office I was expecting a package of cloth diapers, she looked at me funny and said she didn’t think people still did that.  Oh honey, if you only knew!

So it took me 28 years to realize how much FUN cloth diapering is.  Okay, so changing poopy diapers with a disposable isn’t exactly what I would call a good time but let’s say it’s a pocket diaper with My Little Pony on the cover?  Now THAT sounds like a good time!

I have to admit that if it wasn’t for a few good friends of mine, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today.  They are definitely my accomplices in my addiction.  I saw them doing it and I wanted in.  They were like the Plastics in Mean Girls and I was the new kid from the African bush.  I had to be like them no matter what.

So I asked questions, and lots of them.  I thought I could quite possibly have annoyed them to death but then I quickly realized that a cloth diapering mother is more than happy to share with you all that they know.  So they showed me what kinds there were and then invited me into groups where other moms were doing it.  I was addicted!

Now I spend my nights, while everyone is asleep, laying in bed with my trusty iPad, searching for my next fluff fix.  I’m up until the wee hours looking up the best deals on co-ops, B/S/T pages, Etsy and Craigslist.  I can’t get enough.  There’s so many to choose from and the endless amount of utterly talented people out there creating their own designs is enough to put me over the edge.  If only I would have paid more attention in Family and Consumer Education class, I could have tried sewing my own.

So here I am, with my very own stash of pockets, covers, and prefolds.  I’m anxious to get my hands on anything and everything cloth diaper related.  I’m learning as I go with a lot of help from friends and complete strangers online.

From one cloth diapering addict to another, there’s nothing like that rush you get when you happily carry your baby into a public restroom with your wet bag and cloth diaper in tow and have all eyes on…that…fluff!!!
